Yoshitha Rajapaksa Summoned by Bribery Commission Over Navy Training Probe; Reschedules Appearance

Former naval lieutenant Yoshitha Rajapaksa, son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, has been summoned by the Bribery Commission (CIABOC) for an inquiry. The investigation centers on his participation in a British Navy training program and the legality of his educational qualifications at the time of his naval recruitment. Rajapaksa was initially scheduled to appear on June 16th but informed the commission he could not attend due to a court case, with his appearance rescheduled for June 17th. The commission is also reportedly examining special privileges and foreign travel during his tenure in the navy.
