Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa has been summoned by Talangama Police to provide a statement on May 22nd concerning an alleged incident at the Battaramulla War Heroes' monument, where he is accused of unlawful entry and obstructing police duty. Responding to media, Weerawansa stated he is prepared to face any legal proceedings and noted he had received information about potential arrest. This police inquiry stems from a complaint filed by a resident. Separately, a bribery case against Weerawansa, related to allegedly acquiring over Rs. 75 million in assets beyond his legal income between 2010-2014, was heard in Colombo High Court on May 21st and has been postponed to June 8th.

Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa, arrested on May 25th, has been granted bail by the Kaduwela Magistrate's Court. He was released on a surety bail of Rs. 500,000. The court also ordered that another suspect arrested over the same incident be released on similar bail. The Magistrate directed the Thalangama Police to complete their investigations.

Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa, who was arrested on May 25th and produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate's Court, has been released on bail. He was granted bail on two sureties of Rs. 5 lakhs each, and the case has been postponed to August 25th for further inquiry.

Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa, arrested on May 25th, has been brought to the Kaduwela Magistrate's Court. He was reportedly taken to court in handcuffs. His lawyer confirmed that the case related to the incident at the War Heroes' Monument rehearsals is scheduled to be called before the Kaduwela Magistrate.
