WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia Convenes 79th Session in Timor-Leste; Sri Lanka Attends

The 79th session of the World Health Organization's (WHO) Regional Committee for South-East Asia is scheduled to take place in Dili, Timor-Leste, from September 7 to 10, 2026. WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus will attend the crucial regional health meeting, which will bring together health ministers, senior health officials from member states, and WHO representatives. Sri Lanka's delegation, led by Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, departed the country on September 6 to participate in the session.
