A group of women tea estate workers were injured in a wasp attack today (14th) while harvesting tea leaves at the Kirkoswall Estate in Bogawantalawa. Five workers sustained injuries and were admitted to the Bogawantalawa Divisional Hospital for treatment. The incident reportedly occurred when a bird disturbed a wasp nest located on a tree in the upper section of the estate, causing the wasps to swarm and attack the workers.
