Between May 29 and May 31, a total of 17,761 dansals were inspected. While shortcomings were found in these 148 locations, officials chose not to close them, instead instructing organisers to rectify the identified health and hygiene issues immediately.

The Public Health Inspectors’ Union (PHIU) has reported that a total of 17,818 Vesak dansals have been organized islandwide. PHIU Secretary Chamil Muthukuda also stated that inspections of all these dansals will commence today, May 30, 2026.
