Verdict Due Tomorrow in 2019 Easter Sunday Attacks Case

The verdict in the case concerning the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks is scheduled for delivery on April 22nd. The trial, which has spanned over three years, involves 24 defendants facing charges including aiding and abetting the coordinated suicide bombings that targeted churches and hotels. The Attorney General filed the case with over 23,270 charges under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. A three-judge bench of the Colombo High Court, comprising Judges Navaratne Marasinghe (Presiding), Ramanathan Kannan, and Sujeewa Nissanka, presided over the proceedings.
