However, Iranian state media and military officials have denied the success of the US rescue mission, claiming the American operation failed. Iran further stated that its forces attacked and destroyed several US aircraft, including two Black Hawk helicopters and a C-130 transport plane, which were allegedly involved in the rescue attempt in the southern Isfahan region. The US, while acknowledging that Black Hawk helicopters were hit, reported they returned safely, and stated a C-130 became stuck and had to be destroyed, implying self-destruction rather than combat loss.
