US Denies Iranian Claims of Warship Strike in Hormuz Strait

U.S. Central Command (Centcom) has denied Iranian claims that its warships were struck by missiles in the Strait of Hormuz. Centcom stated that no US Navy ships have been struck and that naval traffic continues through the vital waterway. Earlier, Iranian state media reported that Iran had prevented a US Navy vessel from entering the Strait, with one agency claiming a vessel was hit by two missiles. The US military confirmed its forces are supporting "Project Freedom" and enforcing a naval blockade on Iranian ports.
