University of Colombo Moves Five Faculties Online Amidst Dengue Outbreak

The University of Colombo has decided to conduct lectures online for four faculties for a period of one week, commencing July 10th. This measure is a response to a significant dengue outbreak affecting the student population, with 71 students diagnosed and five requiring hospitalization. The faculties of Arts, Law, Education, and Management and Finance will transition to online and hybrid learning methods. The university administration stated that the institution will remain open, with staff expected to report to work as usual, and all hostels will continue to operate. This decision aims to mitigate further spread of the virus while ensuring academic continuity.
