Two individuals have been apprehended in Yala National Park's Zone 02 following a special joint operation by the Police Special Task Force (STF) and the Department of Wildlife Conservation. The suspects were arrested for allegedly killing wild animals and harvesting their meat. Authorities recovered 92 kilograms of deer meat, a locally manufactured firearm, two bicycles, and other related equipment from their possession. The arrested individuals are residents of Kataragama and Haputale. They are scheduled to be produced before the Tissamaharama Magistrate’s Court.
