Two Police Constables Arrested in Vavuniya with Kerala Ganja

Two police constables were arrested yesterday, April 4th, in the Irattaperiyakulam area of Vavuniya for allegedly possessing and transporting Kerala Ganja. The suspects, who are attached to the Vavuniya Police, were apprehended during a raid by the Vavuniya Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau following a tip-off regarding their involvement in drug trafficking. The seized Kerala Ganja weighed 1 kilogram and 970 grams and is estimated to be worth LKR 500,000. Police stated that the constables were reportedly transporting the consignment from a trafficker in Jaffna to another in Vavuniya. The arrested individuals and the seized drugs are expected to be presented before the Vavuniya Magistrate's Court, with Irattaperiyakulam Police conducting further investigations.
