Traffic Restrictions at Nawammahara Railway Crossing for Essential Renovations

The Department of Railways has announced traffic restrictions at the Nawammahara railway crossing, located near the Horape Sub Railway Station on the Main Line. These restrictions are in place for essential renovation and maintenance work scheduled from June 5 to June 7, 2026. During these dates, vehicular movement will be partially restricted from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on June 5 and June 7. However, the crossing will be completely closed to traffic on June 6 within the same hours. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during this period.
