Suspect Remanded Over Alleged Rs. 180 Million Gold Fraud

A suspect has been remanded until tomorrow (12th) by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court over allegations of a Rs. 180 million gold fraud. The individual was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) after a businessman filed a complaint stating he was deceived into parting with the money by a promise to supply five kilograms of gold. The court ordered the suspect to be remanded and produced for an identification parade. Two other individuals allegedly assisting the main suspect were previously arrested and also remanded.
