STF Nabs Suspects in Raids Targeting Drugs, Weapons, and Contraband

The Police Special Task Force (STF) has apprehended several individuals in recent operations across Sri Lanka, targeting a range of illegal activities. Seizures included significant quantities of narcotics such as 'Ice' methamphetamine (valued at approximately Rs. 100 million), cocaine, hashish, Kerala ganja, and illegal drug tablets. Authorities also confiscated illegal firearms, including a pistol and a revolver, and intercepted contraband goods, such as a large stock of dried turmeric. Operations led to arrests in areas including Ganemulla, Piliyandala, Tangalle, and Silawathura, involving both local suspects and a foreign national found without valid documentation. These multi-faceted crackdowns underscore the STF's ongoing efforts to combat organized crime and illicit trade within the country.
