The Police Special Task Force (STF) has arrested five suspects in connection with the kidnapping and murder of an individual in the Mattakkuliya police division. The victim was reportedly kidnapped, strangled, and subsequently drowned on August 22nd. Officers from the Jayawardenapura STF camp made the arrests on August 25th, acting on intelligence received. The apprehended individuals are aged between 23 and 36 years old and are residents of Colombo 15 and Pamunugama. They have since been handed over to the Mattakkuliya Police Station for further investigation.
