Sri Lanka's Tourist Arrivals Surpass 990,000 by Late May, Driven by Indian Visitors

Sri Lanka has welcomed 990,032 tourists into the country by May 24th, as reported by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. Indian nationals constitute the largest segment of these arrivals, with 236,916 visitors from India recorded year-to-date. In May alone, the island nation saw 145,745 tourist arrivals, marking a notable increase of 9.65% compared to May 2025. Other significant source countries include the United Kingdom, Russia, Germany, and China. The cumulative figures highlight a recovery and growth in the nation's vital tourism industry.
