The renovated Institute of Neurology at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka was officially opened today, June 1st. The facility underwent a Rs. 99 million refurbishment aimed at significantly expanding and improving neurological healthcare services nationwide. This upgraded institute will enhance the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. The opening ceremony also marked the unveiling of a portrait of the Institute’s founder, Dr. J.B. Peiris. The Ministry of Health anticipates the project will make neurological care in Sri Lanka more efficient and comprehensive.
