Sri Lanka's Minimum Monthly Cost of Living Rises to Rs. 17,117

The minimum cost of living required for one person to meet basic needs in Sri Lanka has risen to Rs. 17,117 per month for April. This figure, released by the Department of Census and Statistics based on the official poverty line, represents an increase of Rs. 427 compared to March's figure of Rs. 16,690. The data also indicates that the highest poverty line value was recorded in Colombo district at Rs. 18,461 for the month.
