Sri Lanka's Exports Hit Record USD 10 Billion in First Seven Months of 2026

Sri Lanka's total export earnings have surpassed USD 10 billion in the first seven months of 2026, reaching a record USD 10.437 billion from January to July. This marks the first time the country has achieved such earnings in this period. Earlier, during the first five months of 2026 (January-May), export earnings had already exceeded USD 7.3 billion, representing a 7.56% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Merchandise exports alone reached USD 5.758 billion in the first five months, a 7.63% rise. Data from Sri Lanka Customs and the Export Development Board indicate sustained positive momentum in the nation's export performance.
