Sri Lanka's Dasun Shanaka Banned from Pakistan Super League for Contract Breach

Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka has been handed a one-year ban from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by the Pakistan Cricket Board. This decision follows his unilateral withdrawal from the ongoing PSL season, where he was contracted with the Lahore Qalandars for PKR 75 lakh. Shanaka's departure was to join the Indian Premier League (IPL) as a replacement player for the Rajasthan Royals, a move deemed a breach of his contractual obligations. Although some reports suggested a two-year prohibition, the prevailing information confirms a one-year ban, preventing his participation in the next PSL season. During the disciplinary inquiry, Shanaka reportedly conveyed his regret over the contract violation.
