Sri Lanka received US$767.9 million in workers' remittances in April 2026, according to data released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL). This figure represents a substantial 19% increase year-on-year when compared to the US$646.1 million recorded in April 2025. However, the remittances for April 2026 showed a monthly decline from the US$814.8 million received in March 2026. Cumulatively, the country recorded US$3,062.8 million in remittances during the first four months of 2026. Provisional gross official reserves stood at US$6.759 billion by the end of April 2026.
