Sri Lankan Women Parliamentarians Conclude Historic First Official Visit to India

A delegation of 19 Sri Lankan women parliamentarians and officials, led by Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Savithri Paulraj, has concluded its first-ever official visit to India. The group was in India from May 10-16, following an invitation from the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka. The visit's primary objectives were to strengthen parliamentary, cultural, and bilateral relations between the two nations. Key areas of focus included promoting cooperation in women's empowerment, parliamentary affairs, social development, and gender-sensitive governance. This initiative aligns with a joint vision to deepen linkages between women leaders of Sri Lanka and India.
