Sri Lankan Underworld Figure 'Welle Saranga' Arrested in Dubai, Drugs Seized

Sri Lankan underworld figure Saranga Pradeep, widely known as ‘Welle Saranga’, has been arrested in Dubai. The apprehension was made possible by intelligence shared by Sri Lankan law enforcement agencies, including the Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) and the State Intelligence Service (SIS), with Dubai authorities. Sri Lankan officers were reportedly in Dubai as part of a special operation targeting another suspect, Lalith Kannangara, alias ‘Bus Lalith’, when ‘Welle Saranga’ was apprehended. At the time of his arrest, cocaine and methamphetamine ('ice') were found in his possession.
