Sri Lankan Leaders Issue Easter Messages Emphasizing Unity and Peace

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, in her Easter message, emphasized the occasion as a time for hope and renewal, highlighting that light overcomes darkness, faith conquers fear, and happiness triumphs over suffering, and that no darkness endures forever. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake called for peace and coexistence for all global citizens instead of war, specifically referencing the suffering caused by the ongoing war in the Middle East. He urged people to fill their hearts with love, patience, and forgiveness to overcome divisions and move forward as one Sri Lankan family, aligning with Christ's teachings. The President also noted Easter as a symbol of hope, renewal, and compassion, encouraging reflection on humanity, love, and resilience.
