Sri Lankan Health and Mass Media Minister, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, served as the chief guest at the official commemoration of "2026 World Health Day" held at the World Health Organization (WHO) South-East Asia Regional Office in New Delhi, India. He participated in his capacity as the current Chair of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia. The event, jointly organized by the WHO and India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, was themed "Together for Health: Stand with Science." During his address, Minister Jayatissa underscored the critical need to strengthen public trust in health information and advocated for long-term investment in health staff, research, and innovation. He also highlighted the significance of the "One Health" approach, recognizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental well-being.
