Sri Lanka's Meteorology Department has announced a mixed weather forecast for the day. Scattered showers are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the districts of Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya. Additionally, Mullaithivu, Ampara, and Batticaloa districts may experience rain or thundershowers after 2:00 PM. The department also predicts strong winds of 40-50 km/h in the western slopes of the central hills and several other districts, warning of potential risks from lightning and temporary gusts accompanying thundershowers. Most other areas of the island are anticipated to remain dry.
