Sri Lanka UGC Announces August Release for University Admission Cut-Offs

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced that university admission cut-off marks, based on the recent G.C.E. Advanced Level examination, will be released during the first week of August. A total of 92,043 students applied for university entrance this year. Of these applicants, 42,937 students are expected to be selected for admission to state universities for the 2025/2026 academic year. The UGC also plans to introduce several new degree programs, with academic activities scheduled to commence in September.
