Sri Lanka to Streamline School Digital Equipment Maintenance, Cover Teacher Travel Expenses

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya announced in Parliament that the government is implementing measures to streamline the maintenance and repair of digital educational equipment in schools nationwide. This initiative covers devices such as computers, multimedia projectors, and smart boards. Responding to a question from MP Thurairasa Ravikaran, the Prime Minister stated that a formal mechanism is also being developed to provide travel allowances to teachers dedicated to carrying out this essential maintenance work. The move aims to ensure the proper functioning of digital learning tools across Sri Lankan schools.
