Sri Lanka to Receive 104 New Metro Buses in August to Boost Public Transport

Sri Lanka is preparing to welcome 104 new Metro buses in August, aimed at significantly improving the efficiency of its public transportation services. An agreement for the import of these modern buses was signed today (18th) between Metro Transit, a subsidiary of the Lanka Sathosa Bus Company, and Indra Traders Private Company. The initiative is being overseen by the Ministry of Transport, Highways, and Urban Development, with the agreement finalized at the ministry's premises. The arrival of these buses, expected by August 15th, is set to coincide with the development of new Metro service depots in key areas, marking a substantial upgrade in public transport quality.
