Sri Lanka Surpasses 1.5 Million Tourist Arrivals Year-to-Date

Sri Lanka has surpassed the 1.5 million mark for tourist arrivals this year, with the cumulative figure reaching 1,567,007 as of late August, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). This achievement highlights a robust recovery and sustained growth in the nation's vital tourism industry. India remains the leading source country for international visitors, followed by significant contributions from the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, China, and France. The SLTDA data indicates a consistent upward trend, with earlier milestones including over 1 million arrivals by May and exceeding 1.2 million by mid-July.
