Sri Lanka Secures Three Medals at 6th Asian Beach Games

Sri Lanka has achieved a notable performance at the 6th Asian Beach Games held in Sanya, China, securing a total of three medals. The nation's athletes earned one silver and two bronze medals in the long jump events. Ishara Samanmali clinched a silver medal in the women's long jump with a distance of 5.87 meters, while Shashikala Lankathilaka secured a bronze in the same event, jumping 5.83 meters. In the men's long jump, Jayathra Sampath Miranda added another bronze medal to Sri Lanka's tally, recording a jump of 7.37 meters. These achievements have positioned Sri Lanka in fifth place on the overall medal table, with Vietnam currently leading and host nation China in second.
