Sri Lanka Reports Series of Fatal Violent Incidents Across Regions

Recent days have seen a series of violent incidents across Sri Lanka resulting in multiple fatalities. In Monaragala, a 28-year-old man was fatally attacked with a sharp weapon following a dispute, with the suspect also sustaining injuries. Separately, in Kalutara, another 28-year-old man died from gunshot wounds, suspected to be linked to inter-gang conflict, while suspects remain at large. Two tragic domestic violence incidents also occurred: in Kalpitiya, a pregnant woman and her unborn child were killed by her husband, who was subsequently arrested, and in Mannar, a wife was fatally stabbed by her husband following an argument, with the suspect also taken into custody.
