Sri Lanka Police have announced a special island-wide security and traffic management plan for the Hajj festival, scheduled for May 28. The Inspector General of Police has directed all police stations to implement enhanced measures to ensure the safety of devotees and maintain public order. Police officers will be deployed in and around mosques where special prayers are to be held, supported by mobile patrols and intelligence operations. A special traffic plan is also in effect to ease congestion and facilitate the movement of worshippers.
