Sri Lanka Parliament to Convene September 8-11, 2026

The Parliament of Sri Lanka is scheduled to convene from September 8 to 11, 2026. This decision was made by the Committee on Parliamentary Business during a meeting held on August 20, chaired by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne. The parliamentary sessions for the week were announced by Secretary General Kushani Rohanadeera. On Tuesday, September 8, the morning will include time for business under Standing Order 22(1)-(6) from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by Questions for Oral Answers from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Further parliamentary business, including questions under Standing Order 27(2), is allocated until 11:30 AM.
