The Parliament of Sri Lanka is scheduled to convene for a four-day session from May 19 to May 22, 2026. This decision was finalized at a meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business held on May 8th, chaired by Deputy Speaker Rizvie Salih. According to Acting Secretary General Hansa Abeyratne, each sitting day will allocate specific times for parliamentary proceedings. From 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM, time is set aside for parliamentary business. The period between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM will be for Questions for Oral Answers, followed by other questions from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

On May 21, the parliamentary session commenced at 9:30 AM, presided over by Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne. On May 22, the session also began at 9:30 AM under Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne, with time allocated from 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM for presenting condolence motions for deceased former MPs (Professor) Tissa Vitharana, S.C. Muthukumaraṇa, Chandradasa Galappaththi, Nandana Gunathilaka, Janak Mahendra Adhikari, and Kanagasabai Thambipillai.
