The rescue operation was coordinated by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Colombo following a request for assistance from the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. The Navy swiftly transported the fisherman to shore, where he was immediately hospitalized for urgent medical treatment.
