Sri Lanka Navy Rescues Fisherman with Serious Arm Fracture 45 Miles Offshore

The Sri Lanka Navy successfully rescued a fisherman who sustained a serious arm fracture while engaged in deep-sea fishing operations. The incident occurred approximately 45 nautical miles south of Sri Lanka on April 25th. The injured individual was aboard the multi-day trawler 'Hasitha Putha 4', which had departed from Tangalle Fisheries Harbour with a crew of six. The rescue operation was coordinated by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Colombo following a request for assistance from the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. The Navy swiftly transported the fisherman to shore, where he was immediately hospitalized for urgent medical treatment.
