Sri Lanka Launches Five-Day National Dengue Eradication Drive Ahead of Monsoon

A special five-day national dengue eradication programme has been launched across Sri Lanka from September 14 to 19. The initiative, covering 62 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions in multiple provinces, aims to control the potential spread of dengue with the onset of the northeast monsoon rains and changing weather patterns. The programme targets high-risk areas identified through special inspections. This comes as Sri Lanka has already reported over 97,000 dengue cases and 74 deaths this year.
