This order, enacted under Section 20(5) of the Consumer Affairs Authority Act No. 9 of 2003, prohibits local manufacturers, packers, distributors, and traders from selling specified canned fish varieties above the stipulated maximums. The new regulations are set to take effect from September 5, 2026. Specific prices include a maximum of Rs. 220 for a 155g tin of Tuna (105g drained weight) and Rs. 240 for a 155g tin of Mackerel (105g drained weight).
