Sri Lanka Health Minister Meets Nurses' Union, Announces Recruitment Drive

Health and Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayathissa convened a special discussion with the All Ceylon Nurses' Union on May 11th to address critical issues within the public health nursing sector. Held in anticipation of International Nurses Day on May 12th, the meeting aimed to find immediate solutions and enhance the nursing service. A key outcome revealed was the upcoming recruitment of 2847 new nurses to strengthen the healthcare workforce. The discussions also covered strategies for improving service delivery and resolving professional challenges faced by nurses.
