Sri Lanka Expands PayPal Services to Enable International Payment Receipts

An official announcement on April 16th marked the expansion of PayPal services in Sri Lanka, enabling users to receive international payments for the first time. Previously, Sri Lankan PayPal accounts were restricted to sending money only. This significant development allows freelancers and small-to-medium enterprises providing online services to directly deposit their earnings into local bank accounts. The service is operational through partnerships with Bank of Ceylon, Commercial Bank, and Sampath Bank, and users can link their Sri Lankan debit and credit cards for transactions.
