The Sri Lankan Ministry of Health has significantly enhanced cervical cancer detection and treatment services by deploying 18 state-of-the-art Colposcopy machines to government hospitals. Of these, 12 machines have already been installed, with an additional six scheduled for deployment next month. This initiative aims to improve care for cervical cancer, the fifth most common cancer affecting women in Sri Lanka. The total investment for these new units amounts to Rs. 114 million, increasing the national capacity to 33 Colposcopy machines in the State hospital system.
