Sri Lanka Customs Surpasses August Revenue Target for Eighth Consecutive Month

Sri Lanka Customs has successfully exceeded its revenue target for August, achieving this milestone for the eighth consecutive month. The target for August was set at Rs. 190.274 billion, but by August 27, the department had already collected Rs. 199.629 billion. Officials project the total August revenue will surpass the Rs. 200 billion mark. For the current year, Customs has an annual revenue target of Rs. 2,206.995 billion, which is 13.5% lower than last year's actual revenue of Rs. 2,557.535 billion, largely due to anticipated declines in motor vehicle imports. The department has collected Rs. 1,832.7 billion in the first eight months of the year.
