Sri Lanka Customs Accelerates Shift to Paperless Document Processing

The Sri Lankan government is accelerating the move towards a paperless customs clearance system for imports and exports. A key discussion was held today at the Presidential Secretariat, led by Presidential Secretary Dr. Nandalika Sanath Kumaranayake, to expedite the Customs' "Paperless Document Processing" program. The meeting brought together representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, customs clearance agents' organizations, and Customs officials. The primary aim is to direct and inform importers, exporters, and agents to submit all customs declarations and related documents electronically, thereby phasing out paper usage.
