Cabinet Spokesperson Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa stated he had no information regarding the President's specific demand and that it had not been discussed at the Cabinet level. However, Minister Jayatissa later affirmed that the appointment of Eran Wickramaratne as Chairman of the SLC Interim Committee is a correct decision, expressing confidence in his ability to uplift the sport. The government has assured that timely decisions will be made to protect and develop cricket.
