Sri Lanka Cricket Administration Overhauled with New Transformation and Selection Committees

Sri Lanka Cricket is undergoing a significant administrative overhaul, led by Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage. A new Cricket Transformation Committee has been appointed to restructure and improve the country's cricket system, aiming to restore its former glory. This move follows the resignation of the previous Sri Lanka Cricket administration, who acknowledged their failure to rebuild the sport, a situation highlighted during the last World Cup campaign. Concurrently, a new five-member National Selection Committee, chaired by Kapila Wijegunawardena, has been approved to oversee player selections. Minister Gamage emphasized that restoring Sri Lanka's cricketing standards will require time and long-term planning.
