Sri Lanka Cabinet Approves 2027 Appropriation Bill for Parliamentary Presentation

The Sri Lankan cabinet has given its approval to present the draft Appropriation Bill for the 2027 financial year to Parliament. This significant step was decided upon during a cabinet meeting held on June 30, 2026, which sanctioned the preparation of the bill. After receiving clearance from the Attorney General, the bill is scheduled to be published in the government gazette before its formal submission for parliamentary approval. The proposal was presented by the Minister of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
