A six-member committee has been appointed by the Ministry of Health and Mass Media to study a proposal for establishing an intermediate grade for medical officers. The committee was formed on the instructions of Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, and appointed by Secretary Dr. Anil Jasinghe. Deputy Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni, will chair the committee, with Dr. Amila Suranga serving as secretary. Their mandate includes defining the proposed grade, identifying relevant medical specialties, and developing selection procedures and associated benefits.
