Following the issuance of the gazette notification on June 23, 2026, letters of appointment were officially presented to the 15-member commission tasked with addressing public sector salary and pension issues on June 24, 2026. The ceremony, held at the Presidential Secretariat, was presided over by Presidential Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake. T. Ashoka Peiris, a retired Ministry Secretary, has been appointed as the commission's Chairman.
