Six Tamil Parties Seek Presidential Dialogue on Key Community Issues

Six Tamil-speaking political parties have formally requested a meeting with the President to discuss several matters of national importance affecting their communities. The parties, which recently agreed to work collectively on common ground while retaining independent identities, aim to clarify agreements made earlier this month. Key issues identified for discussion include the implementation of a new constitution, the holding of provincial council elections, the resolution of land-related issues impacting all communities, and addressing minority concerns through dialogue. Following this engagement, the parties also plan to meet with the Opposition Leader and diplomatic representatives.
