The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has announced measures to resolve the ongoing delays in issuing vehicle number plates. Commissioner General, retired Air Vice Marshal Thushara Fernando, stated that the backlog is expected to be cleared within six months. Following this, the DMT aims to provide number plates for newly registered vehicles within seven days. To expedite production, the manufacturing entity has been directed to begin operations at an additional location.
